Let’s explore together the details of this fascinating boat tour of Salò and the hidden treasures that await you.
The stops of the boat tour
This mini cruise on Lake Garda starts from the Zanardelli lakeside promenade in Salò. You will immediately pass in front of the Piazza della Serenissima, where you can admire the column of the Lion of St. Mark, the famous symbol of the Republic of Venice. After the harbor, you will find on your right the picturesque Ancient Shores Beach.
Continuing along the southern part of the gulf, you will reach Villa Portesina, a true piece of history. A villa built in 1911 in a late eclectic nineteenth-century style.
Past the villa, you will cross the waters of Lake Garda to reach the other side of the Gulf of Salò. In front of you, you will find the imposing Palazzo Terzi Martinengo. The palace was built as a residence in 1556 by order of Marquis Sforza Pallavicino, the captain of the Serenissima.
The tour then proceeds towards the Cathedral of Santa Maria Annunziata, where you can observe the central Renaissance-style portal and the two side doors in Gothic style. Finally, you will pass in front of the imposing Palazzo della Magnifica Patria, now the seat of the Town Hall. The journey concludes by returning to the boarding pier, following the lakeside promenade.
