Venice 2026: how the entry ticket works

The city of Venice is a destination that fascinates tourists from all over the world, including Italy itself. However, its beauty and uniqueness have also become a management challenge. Excessive tourism and the resulting environmental impact have prompted local authorities to adopt measures to protect and preserve the city's heritage.

The introduction of the access ticket was experimentally implemented in 2024 and has been proposed again for the following year. However, there are new developments starting from April 2026.

How does the entrance fee 2025 to Venice work?

To find a new balance among residents, city-users, and visitors, the Municipality of Venice has reintroduced the use of an access contribution. The ticket will function as in the previous year and must be purchased by those visiting the city for the day (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM) and who do not stay overnight within the Municipality of Venice.
