How the guided tour works

Tourism Peschiera Infopoint, Piazzale Betteloni, Peschiera del Garda
The meeting point is at the tourist information office, easily reachable from the historic centre and the train station.

The tour departs from the Tourism Peschiera Infopoint in Piazzale Betteloni. Please arrive 5 minutes before the agreed time. The tour requires a minimum of 4 participants. For groups of 6 or more, a special rate is available: contact peschiera@gardavisit.it for a personalised quote.

How far in advance should I book the Peschiera walking tour?

For group guided tours it is strongly recommended to book at least 30 days in advance to ensure guide availability. During peak months (especially May, September and October) we suggest reserving your spot at least 4 months ahead.

Alternative for individual visitors: If you prefer a spontaneous or last-minute visit, you can explore the fortified town independently with our pre-recorded audio guides. Rental costs €6 at the Tourism Peschiera Infopoint, no advance booking required.

Is the Peschiera del Garda walking tour accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs?

The outdoor route is generally walkable, but not all areas of the historic fortress are fully accessible. The route includes sections with cobblestone paving and some architectural barriers. We recommend contacting us in advance to plan the most suitable itinerary for your needs.

Can we bring dogs on the guided tour?

Yes, four-legged friends are welcome! As the entire historic walking route takes place outdoors, along the canals and fortress walls, it is perfectly fine to bring your pets along.

Note for indoor attractions: If your booking includes entry to the Historic Palazzina or the Fishing Museum, your dog will need to wait outside these specific exhibition spaces.

Where is the meeting point and where can I park?

The standard starting point for the guided tour is the Tourism Peschiera Infopoint, near the main entrance of the historic fortress.

Parking: The centre of Peschiera is largely pedestrianised. We recommend arriving 20–30 minutes early. The nearest paid car parks are Parking Porta Brescia and Parking Campo Sportivo.

What happens to the tour in bad weather?

The tour runs regularly even in rain, as the magnificent Venetian walls and canals retain a unique charm in all weather. We simply recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing an umbrella or light waterproof jacket.

Severe weather policy: In the exceptional event of extreme weather or weather alerts that compromise visitor safety, the tour will be cancelled and you will be contacted promptly to reschedule or receive a flexible alternative.

What languages are available?

Italian, English and German in all time slots. For other languages (French, Spanish) please contact us: we can often find an available guide.

Can we combine the tour with dinner?

Yes, we have partnerships with local restaurants. We can help you coordinate a complete tour + dinner package for your group.
