To make the most of your visit to Malcesine Castle, we recommend setting aside at least 90 minutes. That’s enough time to explore the Natural History Museum at your own pace and climb to the top of the Mastio for the view.

Where can I park to visit Malcesine Castle?
The castle is located in a pedestrian zone. The nearest parking areas are the "Paina" car park (to the north) and the multi-story car park in Piazza Statuto (to the south). Both are approximately a 5–10 minute walk from the fortress entrance.
How long does a visit to Malcesine Castle take?
A full visit takes an average of 90 minutes. This amount of time allows you to explore the rooms dedicated to Goethe, the Natural History Museum of Mount Baldo and Lake Garda, and climb the tower (Keep) to enjoy the panoramic view of the lake, perfect for photography.

The ticket price varies depending on the season and concessions (students, over 65s, residents). Tickets can be purchased directly at the ticket office at the castle entrance. A combined "Castle + Malcesine-Monte Baldo Cableway" ticket is often available.
Are dogs allowed in Malcesine Castle?
Yes, dogs are allowed. They must be kept on a leash at all times. For medium and large-sized dogs, regulations require that you carry a muzzle, to be used in case of crowds or inside enclosed exhibition spaces.
Is it possible to organize weddings at the castle?
Malcesine Castle is an official venue for civil weddings. Ceremonies are held in two indoor halls or on the evocative "Rivellino," an open-air panoramic terrace with a 360° view of Lake Garda.
Is the castle accessible to people with disabilities and strollers?
Due to its medieval structure, with cobblestone flooring and steep stairs, accessibility is limited. Access to the main courtyard is possible; however, the climb to the tower and some museum rooms are not accessible by wheelchair or heavy strollers. Admission to the Scaligero Castle includes a visit to all fortified areas, the panoramic Keep (Mastio), and the halls of the Natural History Museum.

The Keep (Mastio): Climb to the bell tower (the highest point in Malcesine).
