“I giorni del miele” in Lazise
THE GREATEST HONEY FAIR IN ITALY
Raise your hand if, like me, you were scared of bees, during your childhood.
Actually, these small creatures are more important than you could ever imagine, especially for both our planet and human life. Moreover, they are the key to preserve wildlife biodiversity.
Secondly, if there were no bees, it would be a problem also for Winnie the Pooh and his “rumbly in the tumbly” thing… Why? Because of honey, of course. Did you know that its biggest Italian fair will be coming up soon? Then, keep reading to discover everything about “I giorni del miele” in Lazise.
From September 30th to October 2nd, there will be a lot of stands and activities, to learn about the apiculture and its products. It’s already the 43rd edition of this incredible event! First of all, on the 24th and the 25th of September, you could attend a honey tasting class.
It doesn’t matter if you are not an expert: there is a first time for everything. It’s a great chance to understand how to distinguish the different types of honey. Nevertheless, you have to book it in advance. There are still few places available, hurry up!
After the 30th September, the stands will be located on the promenade and in the heart of the town, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. Here you may buy some typical products, exploring special magazines, original tools and so on.
Anyway, why, among all the places to visit on Lake Garda, they choose the city of Lazise? Well, first of all, because of the fascinating Dogana Veneta, the best location to have conferences.

In fact, during “I giorni del miele” in Lazise, there are many conventions taking place right there. The relationship between human and nature, the climate emergency in the bees’ world are only a few of the topics for this year. On the last day, you may also attend the third convention by the “Comuni Amici delle Api”. They represent the Italian towns constantly planning some initiatives to save the specie.
Now, what I am about to say may surprise you: honey is not only the sweetest thing to eat but could have multiple functions. Around the playground area, near Prà del Principe, you will meet the stand of the National Association of Apitherapy, called “apiario del benessere”. Have you ever heard that if you spread a little honey on a wound, it will be healing in such an easier way? Therefore, we must say that honey it’s good not only to taste, but also for our body health.
Are you still a little afraid of bees? I am sure that after “I giorni del miele” in Lazise you will change your mind. Most of the times, bees are more scared of you than vice versa. Bees are so small, they have to stay close to each other as more as possible to survive during the winter season. From now on, whenever you may feel their buzzing, simply remember what I just said.
During the Honey Fair there will be also some competitions, such as “Ape d’Oro” and “Ape della Serenissima”.
So, if we should summarize it in few words: the biggest honey fair of Italy is planned to take place in the beautiful city of Lazise. And this will be the perfect chance to discover the town centre and its history, don’t you think?
