BEST THINGS TO SEE WITH KIDS IN THE HISTORICAL CENTER

Verona is an ancient city, and the best way to explore it is by strolling through its charming historic streets. Let’s set off to discover its attractions, guaranteed to captivate both adults and children alike!

Arena

The starting point for your tour of the historic center could be the symbol of Verona’s Roman history: the Arena. If this monument could speak, it would tell fascinating stories that would leave you speechless. I highly recommend a visit inside, where you can imagine yourself as ancient gladiators for a moment! It’s an experience you won’t forget.

The Juliet’s House

You can continue your tour to Juliet’s House, the iconic place that, together with Romeo, has made Verona the city of love. Here, standing on Juliet’s balcony, you can imagine yourself in those famous scenes where Romeo secretly wooed his beloved. It’s a must-see for anyone who dreams of romance!

The squares and the Arch of the Costa

The Arch of the Costa is a passage with a balcony located between two of Verona’s main squares: Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza dei Signori. What catches the attention of many (especially children) is the object hanging at its peak: a bone, most likely a whale rib. Built around the mid-18th century, it has sparked numerous theories about its origin.

According to one legend, the rib will fall only when an honest and pure-hearted person passes beneath it. Who knows, maybe you’ll be the lucky ones!

Castelvecchio and the fortified bridge

Walking through the streets of the city, getting lost while admiring the historic buildings that make it so unique, between a chat and an ice cream, you’ll eventually come across Castelvecchio. Its grandeur and beauty always captivate even the youngest visitors. Here, you can choose to explore it inside to teach your children about the history of the Scaliger family, or simply admire it from the outside and take some photos from one of the most beautiful bridges in the city.
